Wellness Resources
Welcome to the 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Wellness Resource page for those who are interested in pursuing holistic wellness! We are so glad you decided to take the step to prioritize wellness in your life. Many things, both internal and external, impact our sense of well-being. You are invited to explore the resources below as you discover, learn, and grow toward holistic health and wellness.
91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ desires for all students to experience a thriving life. To understand mental health, we need to develop a better understanding of wellness. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration () lists eight areas of wellness:
- Social – developing a sense of connection, belonging, and a well-developed support system
- Spiritual – expanding your sense of purpose and meaning in life
- Occupational – satisfaction derived from your work
- Physical – attending to your activity level, sleep, and nutrition
- Intellectual – recognizing your creative abilities and finding ways to expand your knowledge and skills
- Environmental – occupying pleasant, stimulating environments
- Emotional – coping effectively with life, having satisfying relationships
- Financial – satisfaction with your current and future financial situation.
These areas impact your overall quality of life – positively and negatively – so they also affect your sense of well-being. A breakdown or imbalance in one or more of these areas can negatively influence your sense of well-being. Similarly, building strength in one or more areas supports your mental health.
Unfortunately, not all eight areas of wellness function in perfect harmony all the time. We all go through challenges and seasons of difficulty. It is helpful to release the expectation to make everything perfect and instead build resilience, the ability to withstand difficulties and recover quickly.
If you’re not thriving the way you would like, developing rhythms that support your mental health daily can be a great investment of time and energy. Many people find wellness apps to be a helpful resource to provide a framework for building rhythms and skills that work for them. In addition, this page provides opportunities for you to explore further resources, topics and connect with treatment providers for additional help if needed. This is your invitation to discover, learn, and grow toward holistic health and wellness
